The Center for International Relations, located in the School of Social Science and History (CPDOC) at FGV in São Paulo, cordially invites all those interested to this semester’s Inaugural Lecture on International Relations, to be delivered by Ambassador Samuel Pinheiro Guimarães. The lecture is open to be public and takes place on Monday, February 27th at 15h30.

Ambassador Samuel Pinheiro Guimarães, who ranks among Brazil’s leading foreign policy thinkers, is currently Mercosur’s High Representative General. Previously, he served as Secretary General for External Affairs at Itamaraty, Brazil’s Foreign Ministry. Under President Lula, he was also Chief Minister in the Ministry of Strategic Affairs.
Ambassador Pinheiro Guimarães has published, among others, “Desafios brasileiros na era dos gigantes” and “Quinhentos Anos de Periferia”. He was a professor at the University of Brasília (UnB) and now teaches at the Rio Branco Institute, the foreign policy school of Brazil’s Foreign Ministry.
The lecture will be held in Portuguese.
