This interview was conducted as part of the project “Pax Brasiliana? A Study of Brazil’s Role in Constitutional and Political Crises in Latin America (1990-2015),” developed by Oliver Stuenkel and funded by FAPESP and CNPq. This project aims to provide, through analysis and oral history interviews with main actors, a deeper understanding of several political and institutional crises occurred in Latin America since 1990, as well as the Brazilian connection and agency regarding each of them.
